The summer is invariably the best time to explore Italy as whenever you feel hot you can dive into the refreshing water and restart your mundane routine. This time I was motivated to restart the daily cycling around the beautiful coastline. The arc of coastline is famous for its blue waters, the villages clinging to the coastline and the mountains as backdrop. Liguria is an ideal place for bikers due to its microclimate and elevation profile. I took my vintage Botecchia instead of MTB and started early to reach Nervi. The ever-charming Nervi during the mornings was so peaceful to ride with the view of majestic villas, colorful houses, and pleasant parks.
After crossing Nervi, Bogliasco (part of Golfo Paradiso, along with Camogli, Recco, Sori and Pieve) is a beautiful town with its pastel-colored facades and often loved by beachgoers. Cyclists can enjoy breathtaking views with a soothing blue color representing calmness and serenity. Soon after, you cross another diving paradise called Pieve.
Sandwiched between Recco and Pieve, is a town, Sori, where one must try the Trofie with pesto and pedal forward to end up with Focaccia from Recco with cheese. You end your day with lovely food from the coastline, enjoying the serene views from the sea, and a stronger ride back home. Who wouldn’t love this?
