Weekday hiking is always fun and a great way to escape the summer crowd. It was a sunny day but nature had other plans for Noli. We decided to hike the Noli- Falsari Caves (Grotta dei Falsari) and end up in the beautiful beaches of Varigotti (Baia dei Saraceni). Punta Crena was the motivation to do this hike. Noli is a beautiful village and there are easy , small hills around Noli to hike or MTB for. Although the coast line is long, the amount of space given to public is limited (i.e. you will notice chairs/umbrellas everywhere for private access).

Walking around Noli is a visual treat for everyone. The hike actually started from the center, where a staircase eventually leads to a narrow trail with steep climb. The trail went to the top of Noli with stunning views. At the top, once could find a MTB track for cyclists and several trails to return to Noli or head towards Varigotti. For the caves, one should go down toward Noli and there is a small deviation on the right(a narrow trail) that ends up in the Grotta.

After the visit to the cave, we climbed back and further climbed to the top to go in the direction of Varigotti. The cloudy and gloomy weather just got better with clear skies with the blue waters in the backdrop. The trail was relatively easier and ended up in some road near Varigotti from where one could go to Punta Crena(by heading in the direction of the Tower of Saraceni) or head up to the beautiful Saraceni bay/ Malpasso beach of Varigotti.
