From udaipur, we decided to climb the Kugti and waited for the  bus. We bought the tickets to jobrang bridge and the bus was around 4. It was Sunday and was an empty bus. 30 mins from Udaipur we got down and had to descend further to jobrang bridge by walking. There were two dhabas, one before and the other after the bridge. We had egg noodles. We went early to the village and found a camping spot near the school to the right to the Rappay village. The other guys came late and joined us.

At 7 am we all left down to the dhaba on the other side. Peter asked mani and ram to pack chappatis. As last time, Peter and myself went in Sechu valley. We had orange juice snacks, tea momos, eggs. Around 930 am mani and ram came with chappatis. We started hiking and it was raining. We climbed up this time to the left side of the road and crossed a bridge to rappe village and there was a trail going to Kugti. It was quite steep at beginning.

There will be a waterfall to the left. Right is the trail after a while you will see an irrigation canal. Keep following and the trail goes up.

We saw some people coming from a temple.

We kept climbing for 2 hours we saw another team coming from the other side of the pass. They are were from Bir billing. They told it’s a deadly pass, lot of snow,  landslides. They were very nice people.

There was a settlement in the meadows for sheep. We went ahead and the Sheperd told to go to the left side stream and camp above the saddle, there will be a shrine. He said its a bit tricky to climb from the right side so keep to your left and camp near the base and climb early morning.

We had lunch near this rock

The climb
After a steep climb we reached here, where the shepherds were with their sheep

There was a steep climb after which we camped and it was pouring all night. The next day was a clear weather and wonderful day to climb the pass.
